Rachel Johnson

I am currently majoring in Nutritional Sciences with a concentration in Dietetics. After graduating, I hope to enroll in an internship program and complete the R.D. Exam in order to become a Registered Dietitian. In taking this career path, my ultimate goal is to encourage others to be proud of the gift of their body and to treat themselves with respect, which includes choosing healthy foods and fueling our bodies properly. Doing so, I hope to inspire a change in the stereotypical “good” and “bad” foods. God gave us all foods as a gift to enjoy and proper nourishment for our bodies. Contrary to belief, simply because a food is considered “healthy” does not mean that it cannot be enjoyable. As Francois de La Rochefoucauld said, “To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art.”

I am also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. With this certification, I hope to share my love of physical activity with others. Exercising does not have to be a grueling, miserable experience — it can be fun! A workout should leave you feeling refreshed and proud of all that your body can accomplish, but it may be hard to know where to start and what to do. So with this certification, I want to teach others the small, practical changes that can be made in each day to live a healthier and higher quality of life.
