The prime focus of my instruction and practice is to calm the mind and reduce stress since research has proved that many physiological ailments have their origin in accumulated stress. Therapeutic yoga is a collection of restorative poses, gentle yoga, breath work and guided meditation for providing comfort and healing for people who are dealing with chronic ailments, injuries and sometimes simply the discomfort of the aging process. I incorporate the various elements of yoga to help people who practice it regularly to feel a sense of physical and mental well being while gradually increasing flexibility and stability. Regular practice over a period may result in health benefits such as lowering of high blood pressure and better diabetes management, as well. Breathing practices (pranayama) can also help to relieve symptoms of headaches and other stress induced ailments such as anxiety and depression. I do undertake private lessons.
