Nancy teaches Pilates, Yoga, and Kempo Jiu Jitsu, in addition to being a personal trainer. Her mission is to help adults achieve the fitness goals they aspire to while focusing on their individual health and safety needs. Her infectious enthusiasm and personal commitment to creating a positive and informed experience for each student makes Nancy a sought after instructor.
Although a lifelong fitness and health enthusiast, Nancy has also suffered her own physical setbacks along the way. Once out of shape and suffering from a non-responsive back injury, Nancy turned to nutrition and alternative fitness disciplines to return to optimal health. It is with this renewed vigor that she shares her knowledge, care and patience with her students. Nancy believes in working with her students to take them from “where they are and where they want to go to using just enough encouragement so students reach their goals along with a renewed sense of inspiration.”
“Nancy encouraged, pushed, and applauded student efforts while watching closely to offer constructive and upbeat suggestions to improve technique. The overall feeling was that you actually improved your health and wellbeing, felt like your effort was acknowledged and applauded, and that the next meeting would be better still.” J. Schwinn, Martial Arts Sensei
Prior to becoming a health and fitness trainer, Nancy used her combined educational background in psychology and health sciences to tutor pre-med students as well as learning disabled students. She also headed a community disaster preparedness program where she ran workshops and community outreach events honing her program development skills.
Some of Nancy’s clients include: The City of Santa Rosa Parks and Recreation, Seika Ryu Martial Arts, Santa Rosa, and Eric R. Straatsma, Real Estate Mgmt.
Nancy holds a CPT certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in addition to her training in Pilates, Yoga, and the martial arts.
