I began practicing yoga in 2008, and became certified in January 2016. I fell in love quickly with yoga, as I had never found such a discipline that was able to quiet my racing mind. The changes it made to my body were greatly appreciated, although secondary to the changes in my mind.
I try to extend this awareness into each student I work with and as such, I teach my students a balance of hatha, yin, Iyengar, and restorative-style yoga depending on their needs. My approach is highly meditative, as I consistently cue my students to look inward and stay with the breath and sensations of the present moment. This is key in honoring the body, and the basis of Be You Yoga.
Also, I practice and teach Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, and as such treat all my students holistically through an Ayurvedic lens. This means that when a person comes under my care, I take their full constitution into consideration when writing lesson plans. Body, mind, and spirit are intrinsically connected and as such, I treat the entire person, not just their “sickness” or imbalances.
Students and patients come for a myriad of reasons but most are disillusioned/dissatisfied with the way they are being treated by their physicians/western medicine and want to be empowered to take their health into their own hands. What I love most about working with people is allowing those with fear to embrace their own individual experience toward deeper harmony among body, mind, and spirit.
I lead classes publicly, privately, and online. Publicly I can be found teaching at Brenda Athletic Club on Tuesday and Thursday, Tuolumne River Lodge Monday night (also a hybrid class available on Zoom). You can learn more about me at beyoumodesto dot com!
I hope to meet you on the mat one day; Namaste!

Michelle actually teaches at the facility I work at and let me tell you.. she is amazing! I hear nothing but wonderful things from my members after they leave her class and they’re always so excited when she’s teaching one of our rotating Saturday classes. She’s so knowledgeable and so caring and just has the positive energy around her at all times. I’ve also personally taken a few of her classes and I always leave feeling calm and relaxed and just an over all positive self-loved feeling. I highly recommend you check out one of her classes, you will NOT regret it

I saw Michelle for a private lesson and it was a really valuable experience for me. She was thoughtful in identifying what I wanted to learn and gave me great techniques to work on my postures. We also worked on breathing and mediation work, which I found very helpful. Michelle was very knowledgable and kind in helping me develop my practice. I would see her regularly if I lived closer.
