Melissa Dow, a NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) has been involved with fitness and the fitness industry for 20+ years and truly enjoys spreading her love for fitness, overall health and suspension training to this wonderful area of Northern Michigan (and via Facebook, to friends around the world!) Melissa has been practicing the art and training using the TRX® suspension training system since 2006, training in her own Fit 4 Life personal training and small group suspension training studio as well as at numerous area fitness facilities and gyms, and currently teaches 12 -15 TRX body-weight suspension training small-group and individual classes per week.
Melissa has taken several TRX®-specific training classes (from HIT and Metabolic Training to training for the De-conditioned Client to name a few) directly from Fraser Quelch, the director of training and development for Fitness Anywhere® and the creator of the TRX® training program. She also has extended this training by obtaining the TRX® Group Suspension Training Certification (GSTC) at the official TRX® Training Center in San Francisco, California.
Since its introduction to the marketplace in 2005, the TRX® Suspension Trainer has proved its effectiveness and versatility and has been adopted and trusted by elite trainers, pro athletes, physical therapists, and all branches of the military. Its popularity with professional athletes and team training rooms is exploding in every major professional sport including the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MMA, PGA, LPGA, NCAA, in high school athletic programs, and is used by triathletes, tennis players, skiers, snowboarders, surfers, as well as in physical therapy rehabilitation centers and in senior wellness programs.
