I believe that the practice of yoga should be accessible to everyone, as it serves to help bridge the mind-body connection. It is so much more than the asanas, focusing on the breath and maintaining a connection to the present moment. I began my practice after a tough breakup; I wanted something that I could commit to that would make me happy. Before yoga became an important part of my life, I wasn’t necessarily a negative person, but since beginning my yoga journey I feel so much happier, all the time. Little things no longer ruin my day, I feel less anxiety, and I don’t find myself in bed losing sleep thinking about all of the bad things that have happened. I became a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, through Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica, to share the joy I’ve found in yoga with others.
