Doris (DYOGI) Caceres-Schumick

Etna, OH 43062

I began practicing yoga in December of 2013 after suffering from severe back issues, Achilles Tendonitis, and Fibromyalgia. As my practice deepened, I found a significant reduction in my daily pain and associated symptoms. I now teach Hatha yoga with a Vinyasa style. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the successful completion of a 200-hour yoga teacher training. My training includes anatomy and physiology, yoga sequencing, exercise science, pose modifications, breathing and pranayama practices, common Sanskrit, the history and philosophy of yoga, and so much more. I currently live in Etna, Ohio with my husband and Labrador Retriever.

Doris is the complete yoga instructor. Especially for beginners like me, Doris is the perfect fit. She is welcoming and puts people at ease. She creates a warm, yet relaxed environment in which regular participants and newcomers feel safe, comfortable, and at peace. She acknowledges individual needs and restrictions while building a small community. Most importantly, she thoughtfully constructs a coherent plan for each yoga session. She has a solid understanding of her craft and puts a great deal of time and effort into achieving her goals for each session. She has a remarkable ability to smoothly guide us through the asanas. She is supportive and very positive, but she also challenges participants in a safe way. She emphasizes the unity of body, mind, and spirit. After her sessions, I feel each of those areas have been strengthened and enlivened. She closes each class the same way she starts them: by making each individual feel valued, uplifted, and ready to face the world with a renewed center of peace within them.
