I have taken several of Cheryl's yoga classes in different settings. I've sat in on her yoga for seniors classes where she designs a flow in the chair with for seniors with limited range of motion, and a series for seniors with broader range of motion who are able to get down to the mat. I've also participated in her classes for adolescents, young adults, and middle aged adults. Some of these students had been doing yoga for years, some were very fit but had never tried yoga, and some were new to exercise. Cheryl welcomes everyone and describes the technique behind each pose, how to visualize what the pose should feel like, and how to modify each pose and use props to make yoga safe and accessible to everyone. She is so lighthearted that students feel safe laugh, relax, and get stronger without judging themselves. Cheryl takes the time to make corrections and suggestions to every participant as well as offering modifications or advanced poses.

As a fitness professional, I have collaborated with Cheryl in designing Better Balance classes for seniors. I can attest that Cheryl invests a lot of time and thought in designing a class that flows beautifully, has focused purpose, and takes into consideration the limitations and abilities of her students. Cheryl truly believes that yoga is for everyone and her classes reflect this.
