Char is an interdisciplinary Movement Professional, Fitness Educator & Presenter. She is recognized by Yoga Alliance as an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher earning the designations E-RYT 200, RYT 500 & YACEP. She’s also an official TRX Trainer & Coach, Pilates Instructor, Specialist in Functional Movement, Corrective Exercise & Therapy Ball techniques, Aerial Yoga Teacher, Meditation Teacher & Mindfulness Guide, Reiki Practitioner/Master Teacher and a Professional Sound Healer. As an advocate for all things holistic, healthy, balancing, and healing, Char is dedicated to helping her clients and students achieve their wellness goals through Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, Sound Healing, Fitness and Nutrition. Char fell in love with health & fitness over 20 years ago. Growing up as a competitive athlete who ran track, played volleyball, basketball and softball and trained in dance, martial arts and competitive gymnastics. Eventually falling in love with bodybuilding, which led to her becoming a certified personal trainer in 1999. Her love of fitness and background in dance, was the perfect combination of skills that led to her becoming a Group Fitness Instructor and an official Zumba Fitness Instructor in 2007, after being asked to attend a Zumba workshop and teach dance-fitness by the owners of the gym where she trained. She is licensed, trained and/or certified in several fitness formats. In addition to several prehab & post rehab specialities. Char's passion for dance & fitness could only be superseded by her love of yoga & meditation. As a twenty year practitioner of yoga and an advocate of holistic health it was a natural next step for her to become a yoga teacher. She completed her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training in Hatha and Hot Power Vinyasa and devoted an additional 200 hours of study to Yin Yoga, while completing her Professional 300-hr Yoga Teacher Training. Her training and twenty year yoga practice is deeply rooted in alignment based Vinyasa, with an emphasis on Ashtanga, Iyengar and Baptiste lineages. Her yoga specialties include: Hatha, neutral & heated alignment based Power and Vinyasa, Gentle, Slow Flow & Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Taoist Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Aerial Yoga, Yoga for Chronic Pain, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Chair Yoga and Yoga for Breast Cancer & Recovery. Char’s background in dance and experience in the fitness industry, combined with her training in mind-body traditions and complementary practices allows her to deliver movement & yoga classes that are breath centered, alignment focused, safely designed and sequenced and not only safe and effective for the body and a compassionate journey inward, but also light-hearted and fun. Char teaches groups and offers 1-2-1 sessions in Functional Fitness, Fusions, TRX, Pilates, Yoga and Meditation and she offers professional Sound Healing and Crystal Bowl Meditation/Sound Bath workshops throughout Massachusetts & New England.
