Amanda Burrow has over 25 years dance training and has trained under many masters of Classical Ballet. She has examined as a student and teacher candidate through her Professional Intermediate grade in the Cecchetti Method. As a Licentiate Member of the Cecchetti Council of America and Member of the Cecchetti International Ballet, she continues to carry the method to future generations of students and teachers throughout the United States.
Presently on faculty at Trinity Arts Center in Johnson City, teaching Ballet, Pointe and Cecchetti classes, Amanda has also been part of their creative outreach ministry. In 2012, she created a full-length contemporary ballet Hope Finds Joy in the Midst of Sorrow that told her family’s story following their 2-year old son’s diagnosis of Leukemia and subsequent treatment at at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This fundraiser raised nearly $10,000 for St. Jude. Most recently she created a stage adaptation of Max Lucado's The Way Home for Trinity Arts Center's May 2014 production.
Amanda is also interested in nursing education and participates in research involving stress reduction techniques and risky behaviors in middle schoolers as well as a separate study on young girls training in Classical Ballet and prevalence of disordered eating. She is also an RN at Holston Valley Medical Center, Wellmont’s Cancer Institute, on the Oncology floor.
Amanda’s love for dance and fitness has pushed her to strive for her certification to instruct others in Piloxing, Piloxing BARRE, PiYo strength and also with her very own Ballet conditioning class, called Ballet Fusion. She is a fitness instructor at Exhale Fitness Studio and loves teaching others about finding ways to be the healthiest they can be while striving for lifelong health and fitness.
