This style is for every body, but particularly appealing to those who wish to gain flexibility, improve circulation, and gain strength
through challenging poses
without the heavy sweating or quick pace of other styles of yoga. Often qi-gong is blended at the beginning and end of the class to promote a supple body and a subtle mind. Most postures are done on the floor to provide support of the body opening like a flower opening into a bloom. Rare poses and spinal twists not in other yoga styles enhance energy flow throughout the body.Emphasis on the physiology of the posture and the healing opportunities that increase as one learns how to integrate the openness in the body created by movement while focusing on one's breath.
Private classes, tailored retreats, workshops, corporate and group classes locally and throughout the United States. Special emphasis on workshops for strategic planning groups which focus on breathwork, restorative postures and stress management. Seminars with non-profits and special interest groups have included:
Alternative Medicine Conferences, the American Museum Association, Philadelphia area Public Schools, the Living Through Cancer foundation.
Stress management programs have been provided
for heart disease/cancer survivors and their supporters, school-aged children with ADD/ADHD and juvenile delinquents, and others.
My clients have ranged from age 3-87.
