The Sivananda Yoga Farm Ashram is a nonprofit, volunteer organization, open year-round to both guests and aspirants. Founded by Swami Vishnudevananda, disciple of Swami Sivananda, in 1971, our beautiful, natural setting of 80 acres is located along the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. We offer a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course, as well as a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The Yoga Farm maintains a healing yogic lifestyle conducive to personal growth and peace of mind, based on the classical four paths of yoga for self-realization: karma yoga (selfless service), bhakti yoga (devotion), raja yoga (traditional Hatha) and jnana yoga (Vedanta philosophy). Our daily routine follows the guidance of Swami Visnudevananda's presciption for health and well-being: proper exercise (asana), proper breathing (pranayama), proper relaxation (savasana), proper diet (vegetarian), and positive thinking.
Regain a sense of well being and purpose by immersing yourself into the daily schedule of morning and evening meditation, kirtan and satsang; two 2-hour yoga/pranayama classes; brunch and dinner (organic) vegetarian meals; and an opportunity to share your skills within a community.
In addition to our year-round yoga and meditation retreats, we offer teacher training courses/certification:
Yoga Health Practitioner Teacher Training Course/Certification, May 6th - June 3rd, 2017 and October 14th - November 11th, 2017
Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course/Certification, June 4th - July 1st, 2017
